I found a place in Nelsonville... if only I can afford it!

Silas shows just how big this place is. 4800 square feet in all. Yes folks.. when I dream, Idream big.
Former inhabitants of this building.

Jake is amazed that I think this would make a great studio.... that of he's just being a goof.

Stairs to the loft.

This building has two great big front windows!

You see a trashed room, and I see a beautiful dressing room.

Cassi likes it too! Though she may be wondering if I'm insane to want such a huge building.

A LOOOOONG bathroom.

View from the loft office.

Right on the square. I LOVE it!

Making a little Mischief in Nelsonville

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng1F-79DZQ4

Nelsonville's claim to Hollywood fame was the movie "Mischief" with many scenes filmed around town during the middle 1980's. Originally the movie was to be called "Heart and Soul" but Sally Field's movie "Places in the Heart" was scheduled for the same release time so the name was changed to Mischief. It is one of those teen romance movies and when the movie came out it did not represent the old fashioned values of Nelsonville's residents who were generally shocked by the movie's R rated content. However, the film does show some background scenery of historical Nelsonville.

The fountain is seen several times in the movie, as well as the square as a whole. But you may notice that the cars go clock-wise around the square in the film, and counter-clockwise in reality. The garage that Gene works at in Mischief is actually on Chestnut Street.

Shooting at Mama Renie's in Nelsonville

I went into Mama Renie's pizza on the square in Nelsonville and fell in love with the old-time atmosphere of the place. After asking if I could shoot there, I took my girls in and took the following photographs (of Shannan & Cassi, with the help of Shannan's daughter and Cassi's roommate.) The photos turned out really cute.
